SMALL SOCIAL AFRICA
This initiative takes place once a month on a specific date in order to provide the opportunity to tour Little Africa at a low cost. On other days, we serve at the normal rate.
In this itinerary, which translates as an open-air history and culture lesson for visitors, or even a field trip for students and educators, we highlight characters little celebrated in our history such as André Rebouças, Tia Ciata, Donga, Machado de Assis, João Alabá, Prata Preta, among others. As well as mentioning new research being developed by current historiography.
Through a team of Guides who are specialists in the subject and with a reeducational, decolonial, and anti-racist approach, the tour is a walk through history, pain, struggle, and resistance so we do not forget the paths of those who came before us and reinvented themselves in a new world.
Furthermore, it is an itinerary that celebrates the participation of Black people in the construction of national identity, as well as in ways of living and knowing in society.
They built the economy, society, identity, and Brazilian culture significantly and expressively in this country.
Through this itinerary, we aim to look at the past constructively, creating together new thoughts, interpretations, and perspectives for understanding our present.
