Description

The Path of the Orixás is a route of Afro-religious tourism. In total, there are seven trails, one for each day of the week, which offer, at the same time, a panoramic tourist view and make a correlation with particular aspects of the religion and the deities - the orixás - of Bahian culture.
The Path of Oxalá will guide visitors through the oldest and most recognized African origin houses in the city - according to the availability of each house's festival calendar. Among them are the House of Oxumarê and the White House. The terreiro of the White House is the most traditional, having been founded in 1830, according to some historians.
Listed as a historical heritage in the 1980s, it gave rise to leaders who would go on to found other traditional houses in the city, such as Gantois. In this house, in its memorial and common areas, it presents visitors with aspects of the memory of the leaders and attendees of the house, including personalities from world culture.

‌ The whole route is guided with respect for traditions and sacred spaces, with appropriate attire (WHITE OR LIGHT-COLORED CLOTHES WITH SHOULDERS COVERED) and routes under the guidance of a guide recognized by the working houses.
